…Swears-in Deputy Chair.

The newly elected Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, John Christopher Kyoro, has sworn-in Kabiru Muhammad Garkuwa as his Deputy Chairman, with a promise to “operate an inclusive, community-based administration.”
The Chairman stated this during the swearing-in ceremony at the Council’s Board Room in Jos on Monday, while emphasizing that Jos North Local Government is “a miniature Nigeria,” and pledged to build unity, peace, and development to enhance peaceful coexistence among localities.
The Council Chairmen of the 17 local government areas were sworn-in last Thursday by Governor Caleb Mutfwang after they were declared winners by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).
According to him, he received unity votes from the people of Jos North, irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliations, which is a total reflection that Jos North is one, and promised to carry everyone along in his administration.
While commending Governor Caleb Mutfwang for keeping on to his promise of conducting a free, fair and credible election, John Kyoro assured of reciprocating the people’s trust with massive development.
According to him, as a Local Government, he will work harmoniously with citizens and other critical stakeholders, noting that they will be better together to sustain development.
Responding, the Deputy Chairman Garkuwa expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman and the people of Jos North for trusting him with the mandate to serve in that capacity.
He assured of his unalloyed support loyalty and commitment to the growth and development of his people.
Shortly after the exercise, the Council Chairman paid homage to the Ujah Anaguta, Pozoh Johnson Magaji, the Adagwon Jos Izere, Emmanuel Ajik, as well as the Acting Gwom Kabong, Da Anthony Hwere, accompanied by his wife, Tina, and the Deputy.
They sought the traditional leaders’ divine blessings and guidance for a fruitful tenure.
In their separate responses, the Ujah Anaguta, Adagwom Izere Jos North, and the Acting Gwom Kabong congratulated the Chairman and his Deputy on assuming leadership, and assured them of the Traditional Council’s support.
The Royal Fathers appreciated Governor Mutfwang for his fairness and justice and appealed to citizens to support the administration.
The Council Chairman had earlier toured the Local Government offices in company of the Director of Personnel Management, DPM Suleiman, while special prayers were offered for the success of the new administration.
