Middle-Belt Forum (MBF), the umbrella body of the indigenous people of Central Nigeria, has announced some appointments into its National Working Committee (NWC).
The appointment of the new NWC officials was contained in statement, dated 15th January, 2025, and signed by Forum’s Director of Admin, Lanre Obafemi, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna.
President of the Forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, who announced the new appointment at a meeting of the NWC, said Barrister Aba Ejembi (from Benue State) has been promoted to National Secretary-General, while Mr. Luka Binniyat, who is Forum’s Chairman Kaduna State Chapter, was also announced as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO).
“The Middle-Belt Forum (MBF), which is the overarching umbrella body of the people of the Middle-Belt in central Nigeria, on Tuesday January 14, 2025, announced a minor tinkering with its National Working Committee (NWC).
“The President of the Forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, announced at a meeting of its NWC that Barrister Aba Ejembi, from Benue State, has been promoted to National Secretary-General, while Mr. Luka Binniyat, Chairman of the Forum’s Kaduna State Chapter, was also confirmed as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO).
“Barrister Ejembi was the Deputy Secretary-General of the MBF. Binniyat was elected Chairman of the Kaduna Chapter of the MBF in July, 2024.
“By this development, Binniyat, a veteran reporter and former National Spokesman of the Southern Kaduna Peoples’ Union (SOKAPU), will henceforth be the national Spokesman of the Middle-Belt Forum.
“Dr. Pogu calls on the Middle-Belt family and the general public to take note of this changes and give the new officials all the cooperation they may need,” it stated.
