Gunmen, suspected to bandits, have reportedly kidnapped a Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, in Kaduna State, at the heat of US President’s pressure on Nigeria over alleged Christian genocide.
Rev. Fr Paschal, the Parish Priest of St Stephen’s Parish, Kushe Gugdu, in Kagarko Local Government Area of the State, was reportedly abducted on Monday morning.
A brother to one Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero was also reportedly killed during the attack, while many others were abducted by the suspected to bandits.
The sad incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 17th November, 2025, at the residence of the priest, according to a statement signed by Chancellor Archdiocese of Kaduna, Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, and addressed to all Priests, religious and Laity of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna.
The statement, made available to newsmen, reads: “Dear brothers and sisters, ‘Abduction of Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal.’ I write to inform you of the attack on Kushe Gugdu and the one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, Parish Priest of St Stephen’s Parish, Kushe Gugdu, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State from his residence during the early hours of today, Monday, November, 2025.
“During the attack, many others were abducted, and the brother of Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero was killed,” it stated.
The Archdiocese called on all men and women of goodwill to join them in praying for safety of the surviving victims and their quick release from the hands of their abductors, and for the peaceful repose of the dead.
Contacted, the spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not respond before press time.
