Kaduna State Governor, Senator, Uba Sani, has been commended for the progress so far made since assumption of office in Kaduna, in spite of the State’s history of ethno-religious crises.
The 105th Archbishop of Canterbury of England, UK, His Grace Justin Portal Welby, gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna on Saturday.
The Archbishop, who said the relative peace, unity, and stability in Kaduna State informed his visit to Government House, recalled that his first visit was in 2002.
His Grace said that that period was marked by deep ethno-religious tensions and recurrent crises, adding that Kaduna State has been relatively peaceful under the Governor Uba Sani-led administration.
The former Archbishop explained that this transformation informed his visit to the governor, to acknowledge his efforts and encourage him to sustain the path of reconciliation and cohesion.
In his response, Governor Uba Sani thanked the clergyman for the visit and highlighted the gains of the Kaduna Peace Model, which emphasised good governance and inclusion.
The governor, who said that the Peace Model has delivered tangible results over the past two-and-a-half years, noted that there has been no ethno-religious crises in Kaduna State since he assumed office.
He reiterated that his administration is anchored on equity, justice, dialogue, and taking development to all communities, reaffirming his commitment to sustaining peace and unity across the state.
