The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Bassey Ewah, Wednesday presented cheques of Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and Inspector-General of Police “Family Welfare Scheme” to families of Police Officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Command’s Headquarters in Jos, where the beneficiaries received the cheques on behalf of their deceased loved ones.
On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Commissioner of Police presented a total sum of Twenty-Eight Million, Five Hundred and Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Eighty-Two Naira only (₦28,509,182.00k) to the families of the fallen heroes.
While expressing his heartfelt condolences, CP Ewah reaffirmed that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to the welfare of its personnel and their families.
He acknowledged that, although, no amount of money can replace the lives lost or fully ease the pain of their passing, the gesture is a token of appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice made in service to the nation.
He further advised the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds, as they await other entitlements due to them.
