A courageous and fearless northeast-based rights activist, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, popularly known as “Dikwa,” has raised alarm of alleged three threat calls put to him to quit Borno State or be killed.

Dikwa, who is Director-General, Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria, raised the threat alarm on Wednesday evening in a statement he shared with our correspondent.

He stated that the trio called his line with unidentified phone numbers, simultaneously threatening him to quit Maiduguri Town before the sun set or blame himself.

Rev. Dikwa, a Kanuri Muslim-Christian convert, who has been a serial critic of corruption in high places and, recently arrested and detained by Nigeria Police in Abuja, is being accused of anti-Muslim, Islam anti- jihad and Muslim political leaders.

“Just now, I received calls from 3 people that, if I didn’t leave Maiduguri tonight I’m going to die this night. They described me as ‘anti-Muslim, Islam anti-jihad and Muslim political leaders.’

“Since I came out from the police detention, I’m sleeping in a church because of the threat and, even right now, I’m going to sleep in another church in Maiduguri,” according to him.

“I use small pone; I did not record them. I’m trying to put my things together to leave the town for now,” he said in a phone call.

He also said he has been going back-and-forth to police station, court, NIN office and MTN offices in Maiduguri over a strange development involving three different MTN numbers linking to his NIN number.

According to him, the development was noticed a few days after his detention in the police facilities Abuja, for about two weeks, and released after a written apology to the Vice President, Mr. Shettima, was published over a statement issued on alleged corruption in Northeast Development Commission (NEDC).

He is strongly appealing to spirited Nigerians and the international community to come to his aide, to enable him continue with his activism against inhuman treatment being mated out to innocent, vulnerable Nigerians in Borno, Northeast of Gombe, Adamawa, others and Nigeria at large.
