…Speaks on Yelewata killings.
by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna
An Activist of Dikwa LGA of Borno State extraction-cum Director-General, Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, has made another revelation – alleging that over 28,000 Christians have been displaced, and are presently in Minawao, Republic of Cameroon.
In a formal statement he personally made available to our organisation, the Rev. also alleged that additional 18,000 persons have been displaced to Karu, in Nasarawa State, and 19,000 to Taraba State, respectively.
This, he acknowledged, “is making the Islamization movement’s achievements through Fulani, Boko Haram, and ISWAP jihadists in Northern Nigeria are succeeding, as seen in the case of the Gwoza Christian community in Borno State.
“Over 28,000 Christians have been displaced and are presently in Minawao, Republic of Cameroon. Additionally, 18,000 have been displaced to Karu, in Nasarawa State, and 19,000 to Taraba State.
“These displacements occurred over 15 years ago, and the terrorist groups, Boko Haram and ISWAP, have succeeded in driving out Christians from their communities to another country.
“Unfortunately, the Nigerian Government seems to be inattentive to this issue. This is reportedly part of the Northern Nigeria Islamic leaders’ goal to Islamize the country. I encourage every Christian to read the book, ‘Tainted Legacy: Islam, Colonialism, and Slavery in Northern Nigeria,’ written by Prof. Yusuf Turaki,” he stated.
In his statement, titled, ‘The Influence of Colonial Era Agreements on Religious Dynamics in Nigeria,’ Rev Dikwa added that “The political system in present-day Nigeria has its roots embedded in the colonial era of our nation.
“This system has contributed to Nigeria’s current state of insecurity. The Uthman Dan Fodio strategy of Islamic political jihad aimed to dominate Northern Nigeria for Fulani ethnic groups and Islam.
“The killings experienced in Northern Nigeria are part of a strategy to take control of areas dominated by Christians for Islam and Fulani ethnic groups, both within and outside the country in Africa.
“Muslims are aware that Nigeria has more Christians than Muslims, which is why they have allegedly imported jihadists from West African countries to kill and reduce the Christian population in Northern Nigeria. The areas most affected by the killings are Plateau, Benue, and Southern Kaduna.
“Below are the statistics on Islam, Christianity, and traditional religion, presented as percentages, based on Patrick Johnstone’s ‘Operation World’ (2001): Muslim 41.00%, Christian 52.61%, Traditional 5.99%.
“During the colonial era, a letter of agreement between individual missionaries and the Government of Northern Nigeria, written in 1955, restricted the preaching of the Gospel in Northern Nigeria, particularly in Muslim-dominated areas.
“We plead with the British and American governments to look into the issue of conducting a fresh census in Nigeria and monitor the process to include religion in the statistics. This will provide genuine statistics on the population by percentages of religion in Nigeria.
“One of the ways of Islamization in Nigeria is through the country’s registration as a member of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). This was actualized under the government of the then Head of State, General Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida.
“A letter from the OIC, acknowledging receipt of the sum of $21 billion and thanking the Nigerian Government for the support, is mentioned. The letter, dated February 5, 1990, was signed by Dr. Hassan H.
“On June 13th and 14th, 2025, killings occurred in Yelewata, Ukoho, Ortese, Yogbo, and Daudu communities in Benue State over a week ago. We received reports that Fulani terrorist attackers, who came from Nasarawa State, attacked the communities, killing over 200 innocent, law-abiding Nigerians.
“These terrorist groups seem to have the upper hand due to government inaction, rather than protecting the innocent Nigerian citizens. In all these killings, not a single terrorist was arrested. There are concerns, from all indications, that the Nigerian Government are supporting and protecting the terrorists.
“In 2012, a letter was submitted to the Department of State Security Services (DSS), referencing the Nigerian Government’s alleged $21 billion support fund granted to the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC),” he alleges.
Rev. Dikwa, who made available this statement to newsmen, in June 2025, with phone number 08033497229, 08027141437, said he was invited by DSS Directors, “including one Habu Lili, a Muslim from Katsina, who spoke about the grant.
“I was invited by the DSS and met with 7 Directors, of whom only one, Habu Lili, a Muslim from Katsina, spoke about the grant. He stated that giving $21 billion to the OIC would lead to the collapse of the Nigerian economy.
“The Director of Operations asked me to provide the phone contact of the sponsors of Boko Haram. I replied, “Did you employ me here to do your work for you? They all laughed,” he said.
