The Berom Youths Moulder-Association has commended the rapid response of the operatives of Sector 6 Headquarters of Operation Safe Haven and Nigerian Police Force.
Following the recent (recurring) attacks and killing in Gwon Village of Rim Community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, the commendation was made in a statement signed and issued to our Correspondent in Jos, by the President of Berom Youths Moulder-Association (BYM), Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, and Secretary, Nature Iliya Adazaram.
They expressed concern over the recurring attacks, banditry and other forms of terrorism meted out on Gwon Village of Rim Community, Riyom Local Government Area, at about 7:30am of Wednesday, 13th August, 2025, by 3 groups of armed Fulani foot-soldiers from Bangai Fulani, resulting to the death of 3 unsuspecting inhabitants.
“While the bereavement at Gwon is still fresh in our hearts, the same terrorist elements launched another armed invasion on the neighbourhood of Gwon, called Rinyan Village of Tahoss Community, a Riyom Local Government Area, at about 6:46pm of Wednesday, 13th August, 2025, until the arrival of security operatives from Sector 6 of Operation Safe Haven, who reinforced the Nigerian Police Force personnel on ground and jointly repelled the attackers,” he stated.
The BYM president gave names of those killed as: Stephen Maigadi, 57 years; Josiah Dachollom, 32 years, and Davou Sunday, while 4 others are: Mr Silvester Joshua, 23 years; Samson Musa, 25 years; Joshua Daniel and Jonathan Yakubu – these two sustained varying degrees of injuries.
“This effort is undoubtedly building confidence in us – that joint efforts will always yield good results in security management,” Barr. Mwantiri noted.
They, however, called on the Federal and State Governments to, as a matter of urgency, declare Bangai Fulani and other assailants infested areas as “Terrorist Enclaves” on the Plateau, in order to witness a sigh of peace in Beromland and, indeed, Plateau State as a whole.
“We are calling on our people, especially vigilante and other local security outfits, to remain steadfast and collaborative with the conventional security agencies within reach,” they urged.
