…Abduct two in fresh invasion.

Suspected bandits have reportedly killed one person, injured another, and abducted two residents during a fresh attack on Bagodo community, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday night in the community, located close to Janruwa, along Yakowa Way/New Road axis, near Kamazo and a few kilometers from main Kaduna City.
Eyewitnesses told our reporter on Monday that the armed bandits invaded the area and broke into the fence and door of a professor’s residence, but found no occupants.
Frustrated, the attackers reportedly turned on neighbors, while leaving, and abducted two occupants of a nearby house, who were believed not to be their main target.
“The bandits break the fence to the professor’s residence and his door but did not see anybody in the room. They turned round, break into a neighbor’s house and grabbed two of the occupants,” the insider alleged.
A neighbor, who rushed out, following the invasion was shot in the stomach and died almost instantly.
“The man shot in the stomach is a neighbor who died immediately. He returned to his residence with his hand placed on the bullet injury by his stomach with blood spilling,” the source said.
“Another female neighbor, who was shot on the head, by the ear, is currently receiving treatment in hospital,” they said.
Residents said security personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the attackers had left with the abducted victims.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Mansir Hassan, neither issued an official statement on the attacks, nor responded when contacted for clarification.
