In the same vein, the ‘Renewed Hope Advocates’ has empowered widows and persons living with disabilities. The event held at Elien Center, Jos, on Thursday.

Speaking during the inauguration, Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, was optimistic that, “We are united here under the ideals of service, unity, and purposeful engagement. These are the pillars that sustain the strength of our democracy and promote the well-being of our people.”

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Josephine Piyo, the governor said the establishment of the Renewed Hope Advocates reflects the growing desire among citizens to support leadership that prioritizes national development, economic renewal, peace-building, and inclusive governance.

According to him, “Democracy flourishes when citizens organize themselves in a peaceful and constructive manner to participate in the political process.

“This event is not merely about an inauguration; it is about injecting fresh energy, renewing commitment, and embracing a shared determination to move our state and nation forward.

“It is about building bridges across communities, mobilizing support at the grassroots, and ensuring that governance remains connected to the hopes and aspirations of ordinary Nigerians,” he stressed.

The governor also noted that, “As government, we firmly believe that leadership must be people-centered. It must respond to the needs of the farmer in the village, the trader in the market, the youth seeking opportunities, the women driving enterprise, and the elderly who deserve dignity and care. Any movement that aligns with these values is contributing meaningfully to nation-building.”

While urging the newly-inaugurated Executive of the Renewed Hope Advocates to see this responsibility as a call to service, the governor added that, “Let their actions be guided by discipline, humility, and patriotism; promote peace, encourage issue-based politics, and foster constructive engagement.

“Let your message always be one of hope, unity, and progress. Our nation is at a defining moment. We must rise above divisions, reject the politics of bitterness, and embrace politics rooted in ideas, performance, and collective responsibility,” he urged.

“We must support policies that create jobs, strengthen security, improve infrastructure, and expand opportunities for all,” he said.

Gov Mutfwang maintained that “Plateau State remains committed to building a society where peace prevails, businesses thrive, agriculture prospers, and every citizen has a fair chance to succeed,” while assuring that “We will continue to work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in us by the people.”
