Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang,

The Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has announced the relaxation of the 48-hour curfew earlier imposed on the area, effective from 1st April, 2026.

“The curfew has been relaxed, from 7am to 3pm, while residents are hereby permitted to carry out their lawful activities within the stipulated hours.” 

A statement to this effect was signed by ‎Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, who is ‎Commissioner for Information and Communications, on Tuesday evening and issued to Journalists in Jos.

‎“The relaxation was in the light of the relative calm recorded after the recent violent attack on citizens of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area.

“The government urges citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, as security agencies continue to monitor the situation to ensure sustained peace and order.

‎‎”The government also appreciated the cooperation and resilience of the public during this period and reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the State.”

In the same vein, the Plateau State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that, following the relaxation of the curfew announced by the State Government, the Command and sister security agencies will commence enforcement of the revised order effective from 1st April, 2026. 

“The curfew relaxation allows residents to move, between the hours of 07:00am and 03:00pm. However, all persons must be indoors before 03:00pm.”

A statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DP Alfred Alabo, and issued to Journalists in Jos on Tuesday.

“The Command urges all residents to comply with the curfew restrictions to ensure that lives and properties of all Plateau citizens remain safe.”
