The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) of Plateau State Command has celebrated and decorated a total of 581 Staff Officers, who were promoted in the state. Out of this number, 382 are Senior Officers, 164 are Junior Officers, and 35 Conversions, making a total of 581.

Controller of Corrections Plateau State Command, Ezekiel Moses Kagah, while speaking at the event of the newly-decorated officers at the Command in Jos on Tuesday, confirmed that “Such a number of officers were promoted.”
He asserted that, “Promotion does not come from laziness. Promotion does not come from unproductive activities. Promotion comes from commitment, dedication, and hard work. Therefore, I believe that the officers, who have been promoted, possess these qualities.”
He assured the officers that the Minister is committed to encouraging every one of them to give their best, as they carry out their responsibilities, adding that, “This applies to the Corrections Service generally and, down to the state level, we also do the same.”
Controller Kagah charged the new Officers not to relent in their efforts, saying, “You have been given greater responsibilities. To whom much is given, much is required. The qualities that earned you this promotion – we want to see more of them. And when we see more, we trust God that more promotions will come your way.
He added: “This is a thing of joy and pride for me – to celebrate with such a number of officers, who have been promoted.
“I had been praying that everyone would get what is due to them. Even when they went for the promotion interview, I prayed for them and told them that everybody would be promoted. I thank God that this has come to pass, and a great number of them are here with us today to celebrate this occasion,” he noted.
“One day, when I leave, they will recall that during the period of someone called E.M. Kagah, such a number of officers were promoted. It is the wish of a father to see his son grow and even surpass him. I pray that, one day, one of you will sit at the top. Yes,” he expressed.
According to Kagah, “Some may say, ‘I have been hardworking, committed, and dedicated; yet, I am not promoted.’ Please, do not be discouraged. Whatever belongs to you will surely come to you – at the right time. It is not because of any weakness. No. It is because ‘God’s time is the best.’”
He urged the officers not to relent but to put up their best and keep trusting God, saying, “One day, it will surely come.”
He also congratulated all those, who have been promoted, adding that, it is his earnest desire that they should continue to uphold the principles of this service – commitment and excellence – as they continue to work.
He appreciated the Minister of Interior, Mr. Onubomi Fujii Ozo, who works in collaboration with the Comptroller-General of Operations, Mr. Sylvester Ndiye Mwakuche, for generously giving them the opportunity to come together and celebrate.
