Bandits, who kidnapped Anglican Priest, wife and daughter in Kaduna, have reportedly killed the priest a few days after releasing audio message in which they demanded for N600 million ransom.

In the audio released, the priest allegedly blessed and prayed for his parents, families and others for the last time, as the bandits threatened to kill him, if random is not paid in a given period.

A statement by the Diocese of Kaduna, Anglican Communion, announced the passing unto glory of the priest: “With heavy heart and deep sense of sorrow, the Diocese of Kaduna, Anglican Communion, announces the passing unto glory of Venerable, Achie.

“Venerable Achie, who was kidnapped on 28th October, 2025, along with his wife and daughter, has been confirmed dead.

“His painful transition is loss to the entire diocese, the clergy, the church family and all those who were blessed by his faithful ministry, humble spirit and unwavering devotion to the service of God. We will continue to pray for his wife and daughter still in the hands of the kidnappers,” it stated.

According to the multiple sources, the bandits abducted the priest, identified as Edwin Achie, and his wife, Sarah Achie, and daughter from their residence in Nissi Village, Refinery Junction, located in the Chikun LGA of Kaduna, about a month ago.

“It’s so frustrating that Nigerian Government is only interested in WINNING elections, never interested in PROTECTING the lives of Nigerians,” a local source decried.
