JOS: Plateau State’s Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, Hon. Peter Gwom, has flagged-off the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment for street cleaners in the state, in his commitment to “keep the state capital clean.”

While speaking during the flagging-off of the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment for street cleaners within the state capital, Hon Gwom stressed that, “The initiative is aimed at improving the safety and well-being of workers engaged in street cleaning across Plateau State.”

The Commissioner appreciated the directors and staff of the ministry, stressing that the success of the programme is a collective effort.

He encouraged them to continue offering useful suggestions to further strengthen the ministry and the state, noting that the initiative is primarily to safeguard the cleaners.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the State Government for providing safety equipment and for its efforts in promoting a clean environment.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Personal Protective Equipment to the cleaners and a call on citizens to contribute their quota towards maintaining a cleaner environment.
