The troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP), in a sustained commitment to clampdown on gunrunners and mop-up illicit arms and ammunition in the State, has raided the hideout of a notorious gunrunner at Kurra Berom Village, in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, at the early hours of Monday.

During the intelligence-based operation, troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, 2 AK-47 magazines and 38 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) from the criminal hideout.
A statement was signed and issued to newsmen in Jos by the Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, JTF OPEP Jos, on Monday.
However, the criminals fled from the hideout prior to the operation. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing criminals.
Troops of 3 Division/JTF OPEP will continue to maintain aggressive posture and resistance against any form of criminality in the enhancement of national security within the Joint Operations Area.
