The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Plateau North Senatorial District comprising Bassa, Barkin-Ladi, Jos South, Jos North, Jos East and Riyom Local Government Areas have been urged to remain united and ensure their areas are well-prepared to deliver the party’s mandate in the forthcoming general elections.
The call was made by former Governor of Plateau State (also former Senator of the Federal Republic), Sen. Jonah David Jang, who disclosed this during their caucus meeting on Thursday at Lang field Little Rayfield Jos, to endorse Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and his Deputy for second term, based on his performance.
He also advised aspiring candidates to engage with citizens through town hall meetings ahead of the elections.
Sen. Jang called on citizens of the state to continue to support the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang in recognition of the ongoing developmental strides.
In another contributory note, the PDP Vice Chairman, Northern Zone, Hon. Davou Mang, explained that, based on the governor’s performance, party stakeholders and the caucus have unanimously endorsed Governor Mutfwang and Deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo, to run for a second term, in 2027.
They also passed vote-of-confidence in the administration and, thereby, declared “No vacancy” in Government House Little Rayfield, Jos, in 2027.
According to them, the Governor and his Deputy have demonstrated capacity and have not failed the zone and, indeed, the entire people of Plateau State, who massively voted for them in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
They equally commended Governor Mutfwang for the uncommon infrastructural, economic and other developmental strides that have transformed the state in just 2 years of service to the good people of the state. The commendation was also based on the governor’s intervention in the security sector through the revitalisation of the state’s internal security outfit.
