The Senator representing Plateau North, Senator Pam Mwadkwon Dachungyang, has decried the wanton destruction of lives and property in Riyom local government area, where several lives were lost as a result of a series of attacks on different communities within the domain.
While describing the attacks as “a reprehensible act,” the Senator lamented thus: “How can you describe a situation where a sleepy community is invaded at night and the attackers kill, loot foodstuffs and set fire on houses? This is terrorism and nothing else.”
He condemned this act of violence against the communities, saying, “This situation has become recurring for a long time now, and we must find a lasting solution to safeguard the lives and property of our people.”
Senator Mwadkwon also seized the opportunity to sympathize with the people of Dachindo, Wereng Kam and other affected communities of the Local Govt Area.
He, therefore, called on the security architecture to put in place all measures in the state to brace-up and fish out the perpetrators of these heinous acts of violence.
