The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, has presented cheques totaling Twenty-nine Million, Seven Hundred and Twenty-four Thousand, Thirty-nine Naira, Six Kobo (N29, 724,039.06k) only to families of Police Officers who lost their lives in the course of Active Service to the Nation, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, during the week.

While expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, CP Adesina, ably represented by the Deputy Commissioners of Police in-charge Finance and Administration, DCP Aliko Dankolo, emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force places so much importance on the welfare of its personnel and their loved ones.

He acknowledged that, while the financial support provided may not fully alleviate their pain and bring back to life their bread winners, it but serves as “a gesture of gratitude” for the sacrifices made by their loved ones.

He further stated that, “This initiative reaffirms the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM to supporting its personnel and honoring the memory of those who have bravely served their beloved Motherland.

In a related development, the Plateau State Police Command says it has arrested four (4) suspected kidnappers in the recent foiled kidnapping incident that took place along Little Rayfield Road, in Jos South Local Government Area of the State.

A statement to this effect was signed and issued to newsmen in Jos on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, indicating that, two (2) of their officers, namely: Fatoyo Femi and Inspr Dafur Dashit, attached to Force Investigation Department, Abuja (IRT), who are on special duty in Jos, lost their lives during the exchange of gunfire with the suspected kidnappers.

According to the Command, the case is under investigation, adding that further development will be communicated to in due course.

The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has appealed for calm in the State, as the situation is under control.
