A Member representing Zango/Jaba in the House of Representatives, who doubles as Chairman House Committee on Healthcare Services, Hon. Dr. Amos Gwamna Abel Magaji, has distinguished himself in the area of health sector.

Lawmakers awarded “Legislative Champion”
by presidency, global health. 

The Presidency, in collaboration with Global Health Advocacy Incubator, has reportedly recognized the Hon. Magaji’s contribution by awarding him a “Legislative Champion for Public Health Resilience” at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Other awardees include: Prof. Muhammed Ali Pate – Coordinating Minister of Health; Rt. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu – Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs & Poverty Reduction; Dist. Sen Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo – Chair, Senate Committee on Health (secondary and primary), respectfully.

Also awarded the title are Dist. Sen Dr. Tony Nwoye – Dep. Senate Chairman on Primary Healthcare and Disease Control; Dist. Sen Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe – Chair, Senate Committee on Health (secondary and primary) 9th Assembly, and Dist. Sen Dr. Chukwuka Utazi – Chair, Senate Committee on Healthcare and Communicable Diseases, 9th Assembly.

Hon. Chief Dr. Regina Akume – Chairman House Committee on Food and Drugs Control; Hon. Musa Ali Kachako – Chairman House Committee on Health, 9th Assembly, were also awarded Legislative Champion.

Personalities present at the event include, Sen. (Dr.) Chief George Akume – the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas – the Special Adviser to the President on Health, and stakeholders in the health sector. 

The event, which is still ongoing, according to a statement signed and linked to Engr. Seth Bakut, Head of Projects Office of the Chairman, Healthcare Services, will come up with details later.
