The Plateau State Police Command has revealed that within the year 2024, it has arrested 859 suspects with different offices, while cases reported were 794.
While addressing journalists in Jos, on Friday, during a Press conference at the Police Officers’ Mess, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, said 415 cases were charged to court.
According to him, “The Command has rescued 46 kidnapped victims and recovered 27 arms and one ammunition.
CP Adesina paraded Twenty-Seven (27) suspects before newsmen, with different offences, adding that “One of such measures is to intensification of efforts towards ensuring the arrest and due prosecution of criminals.”
According to him, the suspects arrested include culpable homicide/arrest, armed robbery suspects, foiled kidnapped suspects, cultist suspects, and stolen copper wires suspects, among others.
“These suspects were arrested in Shendam,Oua’a-pan, Basa, Pankshin, Langtang North and British America in Jos North Local Government Areas.”
The CP express his profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the State Government and the good people of Plateau State, for the support given to them in the fight against crime and criminality within the State.
“We could not have attained such tremendous levels of success without the cooperation and intelligence we have been receiving from the good and peace-loving citizens of Plateau State,” he stated.
