Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the full and effective implementation of ‘Executive Order 003,’ which is aimed at “reorganizing the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis and restoring law and order across the state.”

In a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Jos by the Direction of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, it noted that, “Governor Mutfwang clarified that the Executive Order remains firmly in place and has not been suspended, as rumoured in some quarters.”

He emphasized that, “The initiative is designed to serve the greater good of the citizens of Plateau State,” while warning that “Any illegal markets, businesses, or structures cleared by the Task Force enforcing the Order must remain closed.”

He made it clear that “Any attempt to return to these areas constitutes a flagrant violation of the Executive Order, which will be met with strict sanctions.”

Governor Mutfwang stressed that, “Executive Order 003 is still in force and will continue to be rigorously enforced by the Task Force, particularly in regulating buildings and vehicular traffic within the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis.”

He appealed to citizens to respect and adhere to the Order, urging them to support the efforts of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) and the Task Force in carrying out the state’s urban renewal objectives.

The governor further assured the public that plans are underway to begin the construction of community markets, in order to provide a conducive environment for lawful businesses to flourish across the state.

While highlighting the broader objectives of Executive Order 003, Governor Mutfwang explained that “its purpose is to prevent Jos from deteriorating into a slum and a breeding ground for criminal activities.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to working hand-in-hand with law-abiding citizens from all walks of life to promote peace and unity throughout Plateau State.
