Amidst the current tussle between the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero and the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on who becomes the 16th Emir, Bayero has issued a circular inviting the people of Kano to come out en mass to participate in this year’s Eid durbar.
The circular, dated 10th June, 2024, with reference number KEC/ADM/27C/VOL II, also carries the headline, “Kano Emirate Council, Council Secretariat.”
The circular was issued and signed by the Senior Councillor, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, and released to all district heads and other traditional title holders in the state.
More so, the people are also being invited to a very important meeting to take place a day before the Sallah celebration, at the Mini Palace of Aminu Bayero located at Nasarawa.
The circular also announced that, there will be a meeting with the Emir at the conference hall of the Nasarawa Palace to get instructions on how the durbar is going to take place.
“It is part of the Kano State tradition to commemorate the Sallah with the Durbar. The Emir and all his chiefs and other Emirate staff ride on colourfully-dressed horses through the city with the people out on the streets paying homage,” it stated.
