The Plateau State Government has assured its commitment to cultivating a collaborative bond with all labor unions to fortify the civil service and ensure efficient service delivery to the people of Plateau.

While addressing union leaders representing NLC/TUC/JNC and affiliates at the Banquet Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, Governor Caleb Mutfwang solicited their support in enhancing the state’s infrastructure and economy for the collective advancement of the citizens.

Governor Mutfwang, drawing from his campaign stance, underscored that salary payment should not be considered an achievement, echoing the biblical principle that, “a laborer deserves his wages.”

He called for unity among stakeholders, in view of the challenges faced by various ministries, departments, and agencies. He expressed his desire to transform their roles into avenues for personal and collective progress.

Speaking also, the Head of Service, Plateau State, Rauta Dakok, lauded the governor’s recent legal victory and assured him of civil servants’ unwavering support in propelling the state’s development forward.

She commended the governor’s efforts in clearing inherited salary backlogs and maintaining prompt salary and pension payments since assuming office.

Mrs. Dakok also expressed gratitude for initiatives, such as hazard allowances for medical personnel, gratuity and pension arrears settlements, and ongoing verification processes for beneficiaries.

Also Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Plateau State, Eugene Manji, hailed Governor Mutfwang as a leader, who prioritizes workers’ welfare and state development.

Manji acknowledged the governor’s proactive measures, including the approval of a retreat for government officials and union leaders to foster a conducive working environment.

He commended the governor’s intervention during the Christmas period – providing essential commodities to workers for the first time – and thanked him for his continuous support.
