The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, says the government would stand firm against anything and anyone that disrupts the relative peace and harmony enjoyed across the state.
According to him, “We have had a very bitter experience of breach of peace for quite a long time in the state, and we cannot afford to have any more in the state.
“We are recovering from a protracted security challenge, and we must avoid any issue capable of threatening our hard-earned peace,” Gov Buni stated.
In a statement, signed by Director of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, and issued to newsmen, the governor said that, “The government will not compromise the safety and security of its citizens for anything.”
He charged members of organizations and associations to always channel their grievances through constituted authorities, and must not in any way take the laws into their hands.
He equally admonished parents and guardians to advise their wards on the dangers of causing disaffection and disrupting public peace in the state.
Meanwhile, Gov. Buni has also directed the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Baba Malam Wali, heads of security agencies, Yobe State Road Transport Agency (YOROTA), and the leadership of Tricycle (Keke NAPEP) Commercial Operators Association to draw clear and unambiguous, additional measures that guarantee the security of the citizens, and to improve the operations of Tricycle commercial operators across the state, respectively.
