The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Plateau State Command, CP Hassan Steve Yabnet, has visited troubled areas of crisis in Mangu, Bokkos, and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the state on assumption of duty recently.
The CP was in company of senior officers of the command, heads of departments and Tactical Teams, to appraise the situation that he met on ground.
This was in fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The CP deemed it necessary to immediately address the existing security challenges in the troubled areas.
According to him, “This exercise became necessary, in order to assess the security situation and to draft effective strategies towards ensuring that peace and order is restored in these areas.”
Under the leadership of the astute and vastly experienced Police boss, the Plateau State Police Command promises to prioritize the safety of all residents on the Plateau, while collaborating with other security agencies to effectively address the security situation in the State.
He also assured them of the Command’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served and, that, those responsible for causing unrest will face the full weight of the law when arrested.
The CP also inspected the Special Intervention Squad personnel stationed at Mangu and Pushit, and commended the men for a job well done, while assuring them that their welfare will be well taking care of, while warning then against any unprofessional acts capable of tarnishing the image of the force.
The Commissioner concluded his tour by visiting some villages in Bokkos and the IDP camp, and he assured them that going forward, the safety and security of their communities has become his top most priority.
The new Plateau State Commissioner of Police urges all Plateau residents to report any suspicious activities to the police, with the GSM number given to them.
